On 19-20 May 2010, the Euro-Asian Law Congress was held. This year's event was devoted to discussing problems of legal support for economic integration in the Euro-Asian space.

As part of the Congress, expert group meetings and roundtables were held, during which participants discussed the formation and development of the Euro-Asian space in historical and legal and philosophical contexts, problems of formation of labour legislation of EurAsEC, economic and legal ways to counteract transnational organised crime, issues of legal regulation of the stock market in a globalised innovation economy, legal provision of cooperation in the energy sector in Russia. The session also included a meeting of a number of rectors from the country's leading law schools.

The Forum brought together over 500 participants from several dozen EurAsEC, SCO and EU countries: lawyers, economists, scientists, politicians, government and business representatives. Plenary sessions of the Congress were chaired by Pavel Krasheninnikov, Chairman of the State Duma Committee for Civil, Criminal, Arbitration and Procedural Legislation, and V. F. Yakovlev, Adviser to the President of the Russian Federation.

At the beginning of the Congress, Veniamin F. Yakovlev read out a greeting from President Dmitry Medvedev to the Congress participants.
A.S. Misharin, Governor of the Sverdlovsk Region, delivered a welcoming speech and stressed the importance and necessity of the event: "The crisis has convincingly proved to us the need to develop an effective legal framework and, first and foremost, we need a developed system of legislation to achieve success in the social and economic spheres.
The session resulted in the adoption of a participants' resolution, reflecting the ways in which the various legal issues dealt with by the legal Congress expert groups were resolved.
